This is our own workspace, and the strategy here was to illustrate how lighting should and needs to be part of the spatial design, and not something retrospective. The ceiling drove the strategy forward. Oblique lines, that run uninterrupted through various functionalities, lend a certain directionality and rhythm to the design — but they perform much more than that by establishing the blueprint of the lighting scheme. Customised by an international brand, the fixtures installed within are magnetic, which gives us more control on how to use them — as task-focused ambient lighting or as highlights for the original artwork and serigraphs that dot the space. This strategy is bolstered by other techniques such as cove lighting and indirect lighting.
